Under what conditions will Islamist parties perform well in elections and happens to the political regime should they gain power? The canonical hypothesis—“one man, one vote, time”—argues that are likely whenever become free their electoral success is lead a democratic backslide. Others argue Islamists not as popular this hypothesis suggests or only moderate these unlikely deliberalize regime.
